The Trafalgar scene is a bas- relief carving of HMS Victory and HMS Royal Sovereign about to break the allied line at Trafalgar. The scene has been carved from part of a centuries old original oak beam removed from the from the lower gun deck of HMS Victory during the restoration. Ian was given the piece of oak when he worked on-board Lord Nelson's Flagship carving the replacement starboard side entrance port.

Traces of the original paint and old copper nail can still be seen on the back of the oak beam and on part of the base of the carving traces of the holes left over by long gone woodworm can still be seen. The Victory beam is set it on a mahogany base so that it can be displayed
